MOBILE MEDICAL CLINICS
2013 to Current

Whenever we make a trip to Uganda, we fund and facilitate mobile medical clinics. These clinics are held in Aremo Village (and surrounding areas) and in various slums (currently Katwe or Kisenyi) located in the capital city of Kampala. Before each clinic takes place, local nurses provide us with a list of required medications to purchase for the clinics. These nurses work in the area regularly, therefore, they already know the clients that will require treatment and they already know the common health problems in that particular area. These nurses are also hired to work at the mobile medical clinics, diagnosing the illnesses and treatments required for each patient. HSU volunteers assist the nurses by putting together the medications for each patient. Most patients have a health book that they bring with them, in order to track illnesses and treatments. Without these free mobile medical clinics, these vulnerable people would not receive the healthcare they require. Each mobile medical clinic costs approximately $1,000 CDN. Each mobile medical clinic provides treatment for a minimum of 200 patients.

We are planning a trip to Uganda in January 2025. Our goal is to raise enough funds to facilitate 3 mobile medical clinics while we are there. Please consider donating to this worthwhile cause.
