EDUCATION PROGRAM
Projected 2025
Unlike Canada, in Uganda, education is not free for students. Regardless of their age, the school they attend (private or public), or their family's economic status all children must pay fees each term to attend school. We know that the way to a better and brighter future in developing countries like Uganda, is through education. Breaking the cycle of poverty involves making sure children have the opportunity to attend school. It is estimated that approximately 50% of the children living in and around Aremo Village, Abim District, Karamoja Region are unable to attend school because their families do not have the financial means to pay for their school fees. At Hands Serving Uganda, we would love to help as many children attend school as possible. We are currently working with two schools in Aremo Village: Morulem Boys Primary School and Morulem Girls Primary School (our Director of Operations attended this very school as a child).

Each school year has three terms, with classes commencing in February. Please consider supporting a child so they can attend school, by clicking the donate button below.

One of the dreams our Founding Director has had for many years is to see schools in Canada partner up with "sister" schools in Uganda. Do you work at a school? Why not give your students the opportunity to help support students half way across the world? Consider the impact you and your students could have on the lives of these young children, who may otherwise not be able to attend school.
